Avion Rewards Pay In-Store is only available at a few locations for now, but keep an eye out for more locations in the near future!
How it works
Step 1
Use your eligible RBC credit card while paying.
Step 2
You’ll see an option to redeem your points on the payment terminal – say yes!
Step 3
On your credit card statement, you’ll see the transaction and then a matching credit for the value of the points used. The credit will appear on your statement as “Payment.” When looking at your Avion Rewards Redemption History, the transaction will appear as “Pay at Terminal.”

Avion Rewards Pay In-Store is an exciting new feature available at select merchants to help you conveniently redeem points on the spot. When paying with an eligible Avion credit card, Avion Elite and Premium members who have enough Avion points will be prompted to use them to pay for a transaction.

When paying with an eligible Avion credit card at a store that offers this option, you’ll be prompted on the card terminal to use Avion points only if you have enough points to cover the entire cost of the transaction.
On your credit card statement, you’ll see the charge and then a matching credit for the value of the points used. The credit will appear on your statement as Payment – Thank you.
Only the Avion account linked to the credit card used for the transaction will be eligible.
The amount of points redeemed for each transaction will be displayed on the payment terminal at the time of purchase, so you’ll know immediately!
Yes. Per transaction, you can pay with points that are valued up to $250, and up to a total of $1000 per day.
No problem! When prompted, simply select “no” and your Avion points won’t be redeemed.

Yes, you’ll continue to earn as usual at your base-point rate for each purchase that you make with your eligible card when you redeem points at the POS terminal.
The value of the points you redeem will be paid to the credit card you’ve used and appear as Payment – Thank You on your statement.
If you get a refund for an Avion Rewards Redeem In-Store transaction, you’ll be paid the original transaction’s value on your credit card statement.
You would dispute an Avion Rewards Redeem In-Store transaction the same way you would any other credit card purchase. After the dispute is resolved, a payment will be made to your statement to reimburse you for the disputed transaction. However, you will not be reimbursed for the points used.
“Avion Rewards Pay In-Store” is a real-time points redemption feature available at select stores. When paying with an eligible Avion credit card, Avion Premium and Elite members who have enough Avion points will be prompted to use them to pay for a transaction. That’s points redemption, right on the spot.
“Pay In-Store with Points” (also known as “Payback with Points”) is a post-transaction redemption feature available to Premium and Elite members with eligible Avion credit cards. Once an eligible transaction has been completed in-store, a notification will be sent from the RBC Launch app to pay back the purchase using points.

Avion Rewards Pay in-Store is a points redemption feature available to members that make an eligible purchase using an eligible RBC rewards earning credit card (full list of eligible cards at the end of these terms) at participating retailers. Avion Rewards Members will be charged for the eligible purchase and will then receive a statement credit equivalent to the transaction within 24 hours.
Avion Rewards Pay in-Store will enable you to redeem your Avion Rewards points towards eligible in-store purchases made with your eligible RBC credit card. When you make a purchase at a participating merchant, you will pay as usual with your card. If your transaction is eligible, you will be presented with the opportunity to redeem points for the entire amount of the transaction, directly on the screen of the point-of-sale terminal. If you chose to redeem points, the card used for the purchase will receive a statement credit equivalent to the transaction total within 24 hours and a confirmation email will be sent to notify you of the points redemption. The points will be taken from the Rewards Account tied to the applicable Net Personal Credit Card Account. If you choose not to redeem points, the purchase flow will continue and there will be no change or additional elements to how it would normally be recorded in your credit card statement. You cannot exchange your Avion Rewards Points for cash using Avion Rewards Pay in-Store.
Statement credits as a result of an Avion Rewards Pay in-Store redemption do not constitute a payment towards the balance of your card account. The per transaction limit for purchases using Avion Rewards Pay in-Store will be $250 and the daily transaction limit for purchases using Avion Rewards Pay in-Store will be $1000.
If you return a purchase that you made by redeeming points using Avion Rewards Pay in-Store, you will receive a statement credit for the purchase amount refunded. Please note that the amount of points redeemed will not be reimbursed by a partial or total refund.
