Vacation inspiration: go Canada!

Now’s a great time to explore our beautiful country – here are a few of our top places to stay

Toronto, Ontario

The Six. T-dot. The 416. Whatever you like to call it, Toronto (or Torono for the locals) is one of our members’ top Canadian travel destinations. This world-class city has a bustling arts and entertainment scene, local and internationally-inspired cuisine, exciting nightlife and major cultural attractions. Catch a film and spot your favourite celeb at the annual Toronto International Film Festival, visit the latest exhibition at the Royal Ontario Museum or visit the top of the CN Tower for amazing views. The summer months are perfect to take a ferry to Centre Island or to walk around High Park and catch a glimpse of swans at Grenadier Pond. In the winter, skate at City Hall or visit the Distillery District and enjoy a European-style Christmas market. For the foodies, don’t miss St. Lawrence Market, dubbed the best food hall in the world. Toronto truly has it all. The question is, are you ready to experience Torono?

Vancouver, BC

Merging the best of the natural world and city life, there’s good reason why Vancouver earned the second spot on our list. Flanked by endless mountains brimming above skyscrapers, this city is full of urban and nature adventures. Cycle the Sea Wall at Stanley Park, take a ferry to lunch at one of Granville Island’s many exquisite seafood restaurants and wander the cobblestone streets of historic Gastown – all within the span of a day. With many national parks within reach, make your way to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and experience the beauty of a rainforest canopy. For those not afraid of heights, walk over the Canyon suspension bridge . . . just don’t look down!

Calgary, Alberta

Entering the top three, we now have Calgary, a metropolitan hub beaming in the magical embrace of the Canadian Rockies. Unlike its Prairie counterparts, Calgary is unique for its mix of urban and rural landscape. For a view of both, make your way up the Calgary Tower. Down below, explore Prince’s Island Park, Peace Bridge or the Heritage Park Historical Village for some authentic Western feel. Perhaps the most glorious part of Calgary is its gateway to Banff National Park, home of world-famous Lake Louise. Be amazed by the most breathtaking views of crystal-blue water enclosed by a towering forest of Larch trees, all nestled in the bosom of the Rocky Mountains. It’s truly a sight to behold any time of year.
